The doorbell rings. I answer it after quickly grabbing all my supplies together in one arm. “Coming!....??? Oh hi Ben ^^”
“Hello Amber ^^ I brought Evie’s homework for today”
“Awwwwwe that’s so sweet of you, thank you! She’s up in her room if you want to go give it to her. I’ve gotta go to my editor today. Running late as usual
Oh, please come in,” I held the door open wider for him.
“No problem ^^ Oh, okay thank you”
“You’re welcome ^^ stay as long as you like, Eve could use some company besides just family bothering her. Evie! Ben’s here! I’ll see you!” I gently walked out, shut the door and headed for my car.
Ben stood there for a while-gazing up at the staircase that led up to Evie’s room. He’d never been to her room before. The thought of it made him excited and nervous at the same time. ‘Amber must really be in a hurry considering that she just let a boy stay as long as he wants with her daughter he’s going out with…with the house completely to ourselves…’ he thought as he climbed up the stairs.
Evie bolted upright in her bed. “Omg! Ben?! Here?! Now?!” She scrambled out of her bed, into her bathroom, grabbed a ponytail holder and her brush and ran back in her room-brushing through her messy and sweaty hair. Her fever had gone down, but it was still there making her a bit sluggish with the hair problem. She somehow managed to get it mostly pulled back by the time Ben slowly opened her bedroom door. ‘oh…my…god! I’m still in a tank top! And I’m completely drenched in sweat as well! Oh no…and he’s right there!’ She quietly whimpered.
“Evie? What are you doing out of bed?” he seemed concerned.
“Well, I uh…”
He gently closed the door and walked up to her and placed the back of his hand onto her forehead.
“You still have a fever…”
“But it’s going away” she protested
“I don’t care. You shouldn’t be up and out of bed until it’s completely gone.”
“Alright” she gave in and covered her bare arms with her hands. Ben steered her back to her bed where she got her to bed where she sat and covered up with a blanket over her shoulders.
“I brought you your homework…there’s not much. Most of it is just notes to have which I took care of”
She smiled shyly “Thanks”
“It’s no problem ^^” he replied and set the homework onto her computer desk next to her bed. Then he sat next to her. She got nervous and began to fiddle with the loose strands of her hair which was almost completely down. She suddenly felt his fingers gently touching her hair. She felt the last bit of it slide down her shoulders and out of the ponytail holder’s grip. She looked at him in surprise to see him smiling-his face so close to hers. She began to blush and gasped a little by accident.
“You should have your hair down like this more often…I like this a lot better…”
Not having much of a reply to that, he took the moment to lean in and kiss her. It was their first kiss. She, at first, didn’t know what to do, but his lips didn’t seem to mind and kissed her again.
Then she got the courage to kiss him back.
‘What am I doing? I’m kissing her for the first time when she’s sick?! How sick am I?!’ he thought, but his lips began to think otherwise.
‘Awe man, worst time for me to catch a cold! Great, now he’s gonna catch it!’ she thought, but she too couldn’t stop kissing him.
He placed his hands on the back of her head and between her shoulder blades. He pulled her closer, she was loosing her strength. Then, by accidental, she fell back onto her bed and he fell on top of her. They froze there and stared at each other-a little embarrassed, but neither attempted to move.
Yeah, I had to write a story to this pic cause it just screamed it
